World Team's purpose is to glorify God by working together
to establish reproducing churches among unreached peoples of the
world. Their vision is that by 2005, the gospel will be planted
in 79 people groups in order to produce church multiplication
within each one. In June 1995, Worldteam and RBMU International
celebrated a marriage of their two missions to form World Team.
RBMU International traces its roots to Harley Bible College in
London, founded in 1873 by the Irish revivalist H. Grattan Guinness.
Whereas World Team was formed in 1928 as a small Bible Institute
in central Cuba by Elmer Thompson and B.G. Lavastida.
Seven priorities:
- World Team exists to take the Gospel to unreached people
groups.
- World Team's goal is to plant new churches.
- World Team plants churches by working together with partners
from around the world.
- World Team has a strategy for starting new churches.
- World Team is committed to life long training.
- The goal of World Team's strategy is church multiplication.
- World Team value the church as God's strategic agency for
reaching the world for Christ.
