Glen Park Gospel Church >> History >> William Lethridge
"Those were days of wonderful fellowship and good preaching experience.
"Nell Street, now Nell Bowman, was the organist and a good lass, Scottish and forthright, a great friend and inspiration. At her farewell service, her friends and relatives sat in the second seat from the front. The presentation was long and Nell was embarrassed. When it ended she flung herself into the same seat so heavily it capsized. A row of sturdy ladies legs waved like an upturned centipede. They took some extracting from between the seats.
"Nell was a 'mother-confessor' and it would be hard to find a person who could be more trusted. She and Dorothy Grover kept the place alive and exerted a good spiritual influence."
