One of her Sunday School scholars from those days remarked, "Her love and kindness to us as young ones in the Sunday School, I will always remember. We all had our visit, in turn, to her home for a Sunday evening tea. It was a real treat for us in those days and we looked forward to our visit very much.
One day each week there were Bible afternoons after school, and we would go to the Grover's home where we were given afternoon tea. (So we always attended.)
It was with Mr and Mrs Grover that I had my first holiday away from home. They took a group of us to a Convention at Belgrave Heights at their own expense. We stayed in a holiday house and were looked after by Mr and Mrs Grover. I thank God for her love in my younger years.
